NOTE: THIS HIKE IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT. DO NOT ATTEMPT THIS HIKE WITOUT INCREDIBLE ROUTE FINDING ABILITY AND SERIOUS CLIMBING SKILLS. This hike as been on my mind for years. I planned to do this hike in March of 2020. Obviously, it got canceled. Since then, I’ve wanted to get back and attempt what maybe 100 day hikers do a year: from the Pacific Ocean to the summit of Haleakala. This hike is over 20 miles in length and more than 10,000 feet of elevation gain. Hawaii threw it all: sun, rain, wind, rainbows, goats, and I even got lost losing the trail in 30 mph winds and pouring down rain. As you’re watching, you’ll see why. WHAT TRAIL? If you ever decide to do this hike: good luck following the ribbons up the trail as I am not responsible for you getting lost or hurt.
